Le Radici della Festa: Dal 1934 a Oggi
La Sagra nasce nel 1934 nella vicina Naro, da un’idea del Conte Alfonso Gaetani per celebrare l’esplosione della primavera. Pochi anni dopo, la festa è stata poi spostata ad Agrigento, trovando nella Valle dei Templi la sua cornice eterna. Quella che era nata come una celebrazione agricola è oggi il Festival Internazionale del Folklore, un evento che attira visitatori da ogni parte del globo.
The Roots of the Festival: Since 1934
The festival’s story began in 1934 in the nearby town of Naro, inspired by Count Alfonso Gaetani’s vision to honor the awakening of spring. Shortly after, it found its forever home among the majestic ruins of Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples. What started as a simple local celebration has blossomed into the International Folklore Festival, a world-renowned event that brings cultures together from every corner of the planet.
I Bambini del Mondo: Ambasciatori di Pace
Un pilastro fondamentale della manifestazione è il festival “I Bambini del Mondo”. Piccoli ambasciatori provenienti da ogni continente portano ad Agrigento un messaggio di fratellanza. Vederli sfilare nei loro costumi tradizionali lungo la Via Sacra, tenendosi per mano sotto il Tempio della Concordia, è uno dei momenti più emozionanti e carichi di speranza dell’intera kermesse.
